It was meant to be funny...

...So at some point (fairly recent) in the long and sordid history of Purdue improv someone made reference to a room in the math building (816 to be exact) which has a perfect view should you want to assassinate our current president, the honorable Mr. Jischke. Joking of course! Fun fact, it started as a different room, possibly 815, until my friend Jamie, who has intimate knowledge of the inner workings of the math building, pointed out that most odd numbered rooms are interior and thus don't have windows, which would make them slightly harder to aim a sniper rifle out of.
Anyway, I was partaking in a bit of IM'ing with Jamie and he mentioned that he didn't know the person currently utilizing that office, one Chin-Yi Jean Chan, a visiting professor. When I heard that bit of info I messaged Jamie right away with what I saw when I thought of how it would be going down that fateful day...

~ Chin Yi closed the door. He'd been planning this day for months now. Setting the black violin case on his desk he flipped open the clasps with what can only be described as relish. He pulled the rifle out and caressed the cold blue steel. Now was the time. Today was his day. He went to the window. The view was perfect... ~

For those of you who don't know, Jamie started a wiki for the Ship of Fools http://scratchpad.wikia.com/wiki/Category:SoF-pedia
On it are a variety of member bios, inside joke explanations, and assorted bits of Fool Lore. On the page for MATH 816 Jamie published my mini story. I think that that is my very first time being published, unless you count my own blog. Either way it's pretty cool. I can't wait for the royalty checks to start rolling in! Does anyone know of a bank that accepts Monopoly money?

Man, my office in the Math building would've been way cooler with a sniper-worthy window.

I can't think of anywhere that isn't made cooler by having a sniper-worthy window.
Fun fact, my dorm window gives me a nice straight shot to the alley that T. Rex and Tripod use everyday to get to their apartment. :)
I didn't know that you had an office in the math building Paul. Learn somthing every day don't cha?

1. I was somewhat disturbed when I found out Renee has a view to our apartment. Since then I have made a habit of exiting the apartment out of different doors, windows, alleys, and sides of the house, leaving at different times, reversing my coat or wearing different hats, and waiting to cross gaps between buildings until there is a car to cover my movement.

2. Paul had an office, a fact that the SoF of the day couldn't find much cooler. Unfortunately, Paul *never* used it, so we made him take us there once. It was AWESOME.

Yeah, because the likely hood of your being shoot is lessen,,, if you are in the same building as the shooter, and not being the shootie is way cooler.

Ryan, I would not be so easily misguided by Renee's obvious attempt to mislead you as to the attack area. (ie alley) Think reverse Psy. Be aware and on guard at all times, especially in the shower and at Walmart. Make no mistake, Renee has (as one of her revoltingly numerous talents) quit a good shooting arm.

PS...... Don't be suprized if the feds come and lock you guys up, big bro, is watching, and the words "shoot the pre-----ent" are surely picked up on a search for them somewhere. Don't try the "its not the same pre-----ent" story, or the "it was only a joke" line. Those, large-upper-to-lower-body-mass-ratio-ed, black and navy polyblend suit wearing, outdated sunglass sporting, 6-inches taller than adv males, dead serious guys don't ever even smile, they are selected and trained on their inate lack of affect and humor.
